Thank you for visiting my Schipperke In Lithuania blog. Here you can find some info on my dogs, our latest show results, learn about our travel plans and get a glimpse into a life with two noisy black beasts who bring so much fun (and hair) into our home.

Sargis
Wyndsong Halcyon Midnight Watch is the first schipperke in Lithuania and in the whole post-Soviet Union area. Loved by everyone, he has a wonderful and sweet character. He is a busy boy - besides travelling to many shows in different countries, he guards our home and everyone in it and always displays a courage big enough for a dog ten times his size.
He began his show career in Europe three weeks after arriving from the US by winning Best of breed and group placement under Mr. Anatoly Zhuk (BY) at a small National all-breed dog show in Panevezis (Lithuania). Two weeks later Mr. Bo Skalin awarded him Best of breed over champions and saw Sargis win Group 1 at International all-breed dog show in Tartu (Estonia). Sargis was shown 8 times in Junior class between October and December 2006 and obtained Junior Championship titles of 5 countries.
Sargis was owner handled until 2009, but now can be seen parading around European rings led by his good friend Fabrizio Manni. Sar's English mom Margaret Aylward takes the lead in the UK.
I am very happy to mention that Sargis got all of his National championships challenge certificates at large International shows including World Dog Show'06 in Poland, World Dog Show'08 in Sweden, European Winner Dog Show'09 in Ireland and World Dog Show'09 in Slovakia.
To date, Sargis is a Champion of 13 countries, International Champion. In 2009 he became both European and World Winner. In 2010 he was crowned as European Winner once again! He also spent a few months visiting with Mrs. Margaret Aylward (Carozza schipperkes) in the UK. After being shown only a few times he won two back to back CCs under Mr. Paul Harding and Mrs. Doreen Posnett. After winning Best of Breed under Mrs. Posnett, Sargis was placed 3rd in Utility Group at Southern Counties Dog Show by Mrs. Jean Lanning. Another very special placement in UK was at Crufts 2009 when Sargis was 2nd in open class under Mr. Roy Baker. In 2010 he repeated his result placing second in open class at DFS Crufts under Mrs. Penny Laverick.

Deena
Shalako Dynamite followed Sar's foorsteps and arrived in Lithuania in December of 2005. She is a spoiled couch potato who permanenly occupies our bed and often tries to push me off it. She loves to sleep in front of the fire and her appetite forces me to limit the amount of her daily food intake. However, she excels in petty theft and manages to maintain her body in slightly overweight condition. Miss D is the dog who loves the sound of her own voice and does not care that her high pitch makes me jump in my seat.
Besides being everything that a nice house pet should be, Miss D is a show star - she has more class and title wins than her crowned roomate, Sargis, but was able to beat him for the breed only three times. Well, it is hard to be a bitch in the dog show world. 50% of her success is, of course, her personality - not many judges were able to resist her monkey face. She is exclusively owner-handled.
She has 9 points towards her AM CH, including both majors, all earned during Brooksville cluster in Florida in January 2008. In 2008 Deena became European Champion and in 2009 World Champion. 2009 also brought her rezCACIB at European Dog Show in Dublin.
